This is a short book which focuses on some of the more common running injuries. Unfortunately, I have suffered from each of these. The five chapters are:

1. Shin Splints
2. Runner’s Knee
3. IT Band Syndrome
4. Achilles Tendinitis
5. Plantar Fasciitis

The author also includes an Appendix that explains the RICE Method. The book is written with brevity in mind, keeping the information to the basics and not overwhelming the reader with technical jargon. It could have been written in bullet format, which would have served it just as well. He explains what to look for in identifying each problem, and provides nice illustrations of the affected bones, muscles, and ligaments. One suggestion though: It would be handy if the author provided some illustrations of the suggested exercises.
